The School Day
Morning session: 8:50 – 12:00
Afternoon session: 1:00 – 3:15
School starts promptly at 8.50. While we allow children to come into the playground from 8.30 onwards, we cannot accept responsibility for children before the school day begins.
Children should not be left unsupervised in the playground before school starts.
Children come into school through the pupil entrances at the rear of the school: doors open at 8.45 and children are welcomed into their classrooms by their class Teacher.
Children are expected to begin their start of the day tasks immediately, as this settles them for the day ahead.
Collective worship for the whole school begins at 10:10 and finishes with a prayer at 10:30. (Friday’s celebration assembly takes place at the end of the day on Friday)
Our popular TOAST club opens for morning break and children can purchase a slice of toast for 10p.
All children have their meals in the hall and are supervised throughout the lunchtime by a member of the lunchtime supervisory team. The lunchtime is split into two sittings, due to the number of children, with play either before or after eating.
Lunchtime starts at 12.00 – children from KS1 and the early years take the first sitting and older children go out to play.
At 12:30 older children line up for their lunch and if finished, younger children have the opportunity to have some fresh air and play with their friends in the playground.
During the lunchtime break there are many opportunities for children to join lunchtime clubs or attend a quiet club supervised by adults from across the school.
The afternoon session begins at 1:00 and the school day ends at 3:15.
Children are to be collected from their classrooms unless permission is given in writing for them to walk home alone.
We also request that families share in writing the names of any adults who have permission to collect their child at the end of the day.
After school clubs change with each term. Please see the latest news letters for this information.
