Picasso self portraits
This half term we have been learning about self-portraits, inspired by different artists. First, we looked at Picasso's self-portrait and learnt that he only used 1 pencil to shade and create shadows.

Van Gogh self portraits
Our next artist that inspired our self-portrait was Van Gogh.
We looked at Van Gogh's self-portrait and learnt that he used lots of different colour pencils, but he made small little lines to make his picture.
Colour monsters
During our literacy lessons this term, we read a beautiful book about colour monsters. The story talks about our feelings and how colours can represent a feeling. The children during this piece of work created their own colour monster and wrote descriptive sentences about them. This work was our very first piece of writing in Year 1.
