Welcome to St Mark's CE Primary School

Welcome to our school,

St Mark's Church of England Primary is a newly built school, set in its own extensive grounds. We are very lucky to be located close to the seaside, within the beautiful rolling hills of the Purbecks.

We are a school where individuals are valued and helped to always achieve their personal best. Children are supported to become confident and independent young people, ones who thrive on challenge, and are motivated to learn.

All schools have their own distinctive 'feel' which makes each one unique. I believe that the 'special feel' at St Mark's comes from our caring, supportive and friendly environment.

I am extremely proud to lead an excellent team that is committed to children's wellbeing, achieving excellent educational standards and providing the very best opportunities for the children in our care. Staff, supported by governors, work hard to deliver a rich and challenging curriculum; to prepare children for future education and their 'journey of life'.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection highlighted the work we do to support families, and the work we undertake with our community. We are constantly developing this and always welcome parents and carers to join in the fun!

We are also very proud to be recognised as an 'Excellent' Church school reflecting Christian values in the way we interact and build partnerships with each other and within our community.

As a school we are constantly seeking ways to improve and grow.   We value and appreciate the support we now receive from being a part of the Coastal Learning Partnership.

A core strength of the school is how we extend and enrich learning, both during and beyond the normal timetabled day.  By working co-operatively with other primary and secondary schools in the local area, we are able to offer a wide range of enriching activities and expert coaching and tuition in various fields. We have an enviable variety of clubs including; forest schools, bush-craft club, gardening, art and a wide range of extra-curricular sporting activities including football, tennis and badminton.

Our staff, coupled with supportive parents and governors, contribute greatly to the success of our school. We all work together with a common purpose to ensure that our children are happy and successful in their primary years.

Please come and see us and find out for yourself.  We are always delighted to welcome visitors and would be glad to give you a tour of the school and answer any further questions you may have.

Kind Regards
