  • Positive Penny Challenge

    We were asked by Greggs to help with their fundraiser,so of course it was a Yes!
    Each class took the Positive Penny  Challenge to fill their jars up with as many 1p and 2p’s  and the winning class would win a movie afternoon!
    The competition got very serious and class teacher rivalry was at its best

     

    Finally, the count was up, and we can now announce that Kingfisher class raised the most with £32.46

    Today, Ms Stephen and Miss Canning had the pleasure of handing over £132.07 to  The Greggs Foundation, who support and fund our breakfast club.

  • SCARF - Safety, Caring, Achievement , Resilience and Friendship. Workshops

    Today, the whole school had Well-being workshops delivered to them by Jane from Coram Life Education   
    SCARF - Safety, Caring, Achievement , Resilience and Friendship.  
    The workshops depended on the ages of the class , but covered about ‘bouncing back’, taking care of our feelings, gratitude, acceptance,protecting myself (mind and body), the brain (calming the busy mind) and going for goals! 
    Why not get into a conversation about today, and their well-being.

  • St Mark’s Day Celebration

    St Mark’s Day Celebration. Held today at St Mark's, Herston Church was a fabulous morning of worship, reunions, hymns, prayers and celebration cake! 
    Thank you, Rev.Dave, Carol and the St Marks’ church members for holding such a special service. 
    Our Year 4 prayers were read out, Mr Woolley and Miss Canning represented our school, and spoke about how St Marks School is a family, with core values of Love, Trust, Respect and Inspire… this was echoed by our School Governor, Carol. 
    It was a morning which  reunited past with the present.

    Would you know what to do in a first aid emergency?
    Our Year 6 pupils do!  Today, they had a  First Aid Workshop with Sally Blackmore from The British Red Cross. Together, they were taught  basic but life saving first aid skills.

  • National Trust Director comes to our school!

    This Tuesday, we welcomed the Director General of the National Trust (Hilary Mc Grady), to St Mark's to see firsthand our brilliant and growing work with our pupils and their families to better connect with each other and with nature. #forestschool

    PAW 2024: 25 May – 9 June

    We are so excited to be a part of this years PAW! 
    Today, local Purbeck Youth Arstist, Sophie Jenkins came into school to work with our children. As part of the school workshops and Community Project, work got underway creating art for the exhibition. It’s all go and looks amazing! πŸŽ¨πŸ–ŒοΈ

  • Hive and Partners donate Easter Eggs to our PTA

    Our PTA were very egg- cited to be receiving some Easter eggs, donated from Colin James Cattermole from Hive & Partners. These will be wrapped up for our tombola at our Easter Fair tomorrow! 

    Let’s hope these Easter eggs are all they’ve cracked up to be and if you win you will need to eggs-ercise off all that chocolate. 🐣
    Sorry, we’ve got so many egg puns, it’s not even bunny! 🀣

  • Year 3 RE lesson

    Today our Year 3 class took their RE lesson to St Mark's, Herston church. 

    Our children asked lots of questions,listened and engaged so brilliantly with Rev David. 

    The class, got to play the church organ, sing ‘Be bold, be brave’ and even got to ring the church bells! πŸ””

  • Eggciting news!

    Our PTA have been overwhelmed with all the Eggceptional nominations. 

    Tomorrow (Friday), the winners will be announced in our Praise Assembly. 

    We have nominations saying “ she’s a great friend”, “ they always help me when I’m struggling” and “they are really good at being a sports leader”. Our PTA found it so hard to choose just three, so listen out tomorrow… it could be you!
