Working with Cumulus
Thu 09 Jan 2025What an amazing day for all our students! 🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
Today, we helped Sandra from Cumulus Outdoors decorate a baby elephant sculpture, which will be part of the Stampede by the Sea exhibition.
Stampede by the Sea will be showcasing 30 beautifully decorated, six foot high elephant structures alongside a herd of smaller ‘baby’ elephants for the public to enjoy.
This event is to help raise funds for Weldmar Hospice and highlight all their services. The symbol of the elephant is that they are known to share emotions like joy, empathy and love… just like us!
We just loved being involved and want to thank Sandra from Cumulus for inviting us to be a part of this baby elephants journey and we hope the trail and awareness goes well.

Christingle
Wed 04 Dec 2024Today, we held our Christingle in school and the service was delivered by Rev David Richards. As always, it’s a beautiful service that everyone gets involved with and enjoy.
Christingle is a festive, candle-lit Christian celebration that takes place during Advent. It is named after the Christingles that are lit during the service.

The Purbeck Christmas Tree Festival.
Wed 04 Dec 2024Once again, we had the honor to decorate a tree at The Purbeck Christmas Tree Festival. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
The theme was Christmas through the ages, so in keeping with the Year 5 topic, we decorated our tree with a Victorian style. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄It’s a truely fantastic sight seeing our tree lit up, decorated by our pupils, standing tall with the many individual, beautifully decorated trees.
We hope you can go along and spot ours!
Thank you to Ms Le Roux and Carol for organising. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

World Kindness Day 2024
Wed 13 Nov 2024Today is World Kindness Day. Its purpose is to encourage individuals to be kind to one another, to themselves, and to the world around them.
Today, is just a reminder that simple acts of kindness can have a powerful impact on both individuals and communities.
Here at St Marks, we have a pupil run Kindness Council, who have been exploring ways we can be kinder to ourselves, the environment, school community and our local community.
In the first meeting, they all brainstormed ideas from running litter picking sessions, inviting local residents in to school for a coffee and chat, organising games in school and making a kindness chain to go throughout the school!
We look forward to sharing their amazing ideas and the outcomes!
We know Kindness can make the world a happier place, and can boost feelings of confidence, mental health wellbeing and happiness and our school oozes kindness! ❤️

Girls league game
Tue 12 Nov 2024A superb league game for our Year 6 girls against Stoborough CE Primary School. Each player played a great game and with such power behind their kicks and sprints. The final result was 15-1 to St Marks 👏👏
Thank you to Mr Norman and Mrs Davies for all the coaching. -
Rememberance service
Fri 08 Nov 2024Today, our Year 6 pupils took part in the Remembrance Service at the Recreation Ground.
Everyone placed crosses around the Memorial, which will remain there until the service on Sunday. Moments like these, give us time to think, reflect and ask questions …these are special times. -
